Artix Host Valentine’s Day In-Game Event with Musical Guest Mia J. Park in AQ Worlds

Artix Entertainment announced it will host an in-game Valentine’s Day event with musician Mia J. Park tomorrow, February 10th, 2012, at 7 PM EST in AdventureQuest Worlds.

Players logging into the game tomorrow will find themselves on a quest with bounty hunter J6 to capture a Mer’angel (a half-mermaid, half-angel being) whose singing has been luring ships to crash into rocks or disappear in a mysterious maelstrom in the middle of the ocean. But as players approach the Mer’angel, they realize that the maelstrom in front of her is actually a portal into the Underworld. The Mer’angel reveals that she had heard the sadness of two young people in love who were split apart by a curse and were doomed to spend an eternity apart – in life and in death. The Mer’angel’s song was meant to lure heroes to the maelstrom so that someone would enter the Underworld and break the lovers’ curse, uniting them at last. Before the players can decide if they even want to help the loving couple, the water in the maelstrom rises, pulling the ship into it and sending the players, J6, and the Mer’angel to the Underworld.

Unfortunately, entering the Underworld is a lot easier than leaving it. Players must strike a deal with Death, find a way to remove the lovers’ curse, and escape before the rising maelstrom waters close the portal and trap them in the Underworld forever.

Australian singer/songwriter Mia J. Park will be voicing the Mer’angel character and providing songs for the event. The event will feature several of Mia’s songs from her latest album Metamorphosis as well as one never-before heard song that she produced and recorded specifically for this in-game event.
