New Browser Games 2012
There are a bunch of new browser games released so far in 2012 and even every month, there will be a handful of new titles going beta. SuperMMO is here to select some of the most promising games for your reference.
Mythic Saga is a new free fantasy title from Gamewave, the publisher behind Crystal Saga and Call of Thrones, and is in closed beta (in the first full week of June) for players in South East Asia at the game portal of voomga. Mythic Saga is inspired by the oriental mythology. Players in it act as heroes to explore the fantastic world seeking for lost memories and the truth around the Mystic land. Quests, guild, crafting, mounts, combat system and on – typical mainstays of MMORPG are all preserved.
Serenia Fantasy is a browser game that departs from those traditional browser based RPGs like Dragon Born or Crystal Saga, offering something refreshingly different. Thanks in part to its retro style and colorful backdrop; Serenia Fantasy is a role playing game that offers simple, exciting and entertaining game play. Taking inspiration from the classic adventure role player games of the 1990’s, Serenia Fantasy has been designed to give players a fun nostalgic gaming experience and transport you back to gaming’s golden age.
Tamer Saga is a free browser-based RPG from PopPace, creators of SteelWar Online. Set in the medieval Europe, the game features an anime-styled world infested by a variety of monsters and bosses. Players select one of four classes, Warrior, Mage, Priest or Ranger, and follow the storyline delving into the mystic world for adventure.
Soul of Guardian features the traditional 2.5D isometric graphics with real-time point-and-click combat, which are overwhelmingly abused by game producers. I have been playing games of this genre for many years while only a minor portion of them were a blast, the majority of them do have become monotonous and end up with failure. So I was a bit skeptical about this game. Sadly, my concerns came true.
Bloody Bite allows players to play either a vampire or a werewolf, fighting against the opposite clan in a world set in the 1920s. Players conquer buildings in major metropolitan areas, and expand them to spread their influence. While in control of the local population, risks beget rewards; oppressed mortals provide more resources, but the greater the yoke, the more likely they are to rebel. Various missions exist in the game, some against legendary monsters of print and film. The game offers extensive customization options as well, from appearance, to weapons and armor, to pets.
FantasyRama combines popular fantasy elements in an enchanted setting with the beloved Farmerama game mechanics to create an exciting online experience that promises loads of fun in a large social community. The game’s highly-detailed and appealing graphics help to raise the bar in casual gaming. FantasyRama not only offers players a diverse and relaxed game world, but also provides players with exciting quests and social interactions.
Kartuga is a browser-based action-roleplaying game set in a breathtaking 3D world. Choose your ship, sail the seas, fight, loot, plunder – and become the world’s greatest pirate.
Dragon City is a new Facebook game from Spanish developer Social Point, creators of the successful Social Empires and Social Wars. Gameplay in Dragon City revolves around building habitats for dragons, hatching dragon eggs, breeding types of dragon together and ensuring that the player’s increasingly-large menagerie stays well-fed.
Family Guy Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) based on the animated television series Family Guy, developed by Roadhouse Interactive for 20th Century Fox in conjunction with lead developer Acronym Games. The game is currently in open beta. Family Guy Online is free to play, although a Unity Web Player is required.
Brick-Force is a free-to-play 3D sandbox shooter (FPS) and is a co-production of Korean developer EXE Games and Infernum. Brick-Force allows players to create worlds and maps that they’ve always dreamed of, brick by brick (similar to Minecraft). They can also share these virtual playgrounds with the community and use them as the backdrop for fast paced shooter hunts against fellow players or computerized opponents. The humorous game will be playable directly in the browser thanks to the Unity 3D engine.
Forge of Empires is a browser-based strategy game. Players must manage or produce resources, develop an army, gain control of provinces, and research their way through several ages of history and development. The game offers a single-player campaign for players to explore and conquer several provinces, gaining resources and new technology as they progress. Players can also rearrange their cities, duel other players, and balance production as they explore the world
Dragon Crusade is an MMORTS that gives players a city in the world of Ashan. Choose one of the six races available, each of which has their on strengths and weaknesses. Your cities will also show the arms and architecture of your given race. You’ve the option to customize your heroes, mounts, and pets with a variety of equipment and skills.
